The sun came out to welcome everyone at the Clwyd Country Fair held at Ruthin Livestock last weekend.
There was a great buzz around the site as families made their way around the food and craft stalls, tradestands and childrens area.
The vintage tractors and dog show proved to be very popular attractions with good entries in both and plenty of spectators. The food demonstration area was also a popular area with our hourly demo’s and tasters proving a hit with visitors of all ages.
Spectators where in awe as Edward Parks carved a piece of wood into a bull’s head during the day and the alpaca’s were also a popular area.
The Speed Shears rounded off a great afternoon with all the excitement expected a nailbiting final.
Gwyn Edwards, Chairman “What a weekend! It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves at the Country Fair and the Livestock Auction looked fantastic with all the stalls and trade stands set up. Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for making Clwyd Country Fair a brilliant weekend”
Barry Tonks, Demo chef “It was a great privilege for me to have been at the Clwyd 2020 weekend in Ruthin this weekend. The hospitality was so warm and everyone so friendly. It was humbling to meet the farmers Harry (Fetherstonhaugh), Daphney (Tilley), Gwyn (Edwards) and everyone else. It was fantastic to hear the choir sing, see the shearers and all the other activities on Saturday and to have an indepth insight into how rural life goes on. I’ve been using Welsh lamb for the last 17 years and it is second to none”
