Once again Clwyd 2020 are taking over the Livestock Market in Ruthin for a weekend of activities on the 7 and 8 December.
Clwyd 2020, the Royal Welsh Feature County fundraising committee are organising for a skating rink to be brought to Ruthin for the first time. There is space for 50 people to skate at a time, with 30 minute slots available at £8 for adults and £5 for children. Booking is advisable, although there will be some slots available on the day.
Around the skating rink and in the Hall there will be a Christmas Market with local food, drink and craft stalls. With free admission to the event , it’s a perfect opportunity to do some Christmas shopping or just sit down, catch-up with friends or spend some quality time with family.
There will also be plenty to keep the children entertained after they’ve skated with a visit from Father Christmas, tombola and attractions.
Children of all ages as well as adults will be entertained by the Vale Scale Model Club who are setting up a demonstration top entertain us all during the weekend. Local schools will also be carol singing during the day, and you can go and see the cattle pens decorated as part of a local schools competition.
Gwyn Edwards, Ruthin Committee Chair said “We are very excited to be bringing a skating rink to Ruthin, and offering a great value family day out for the people of Ruthin. It’ll be a fun weekend with a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping while you’re there.”
“The fundraising is going well and there is a great community spirit in Ruthin with events that we are organising being well supported”
“In addition to the skating rink, I think having the Vale Scale Model Club there is a highlight for me- what they can do with those remote controlled machines is just amazing”
