Clwyd 2020- RWAS Feature County

The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) has played a leading role in the development of agriculture and the rural economy in Wales for over a century since its formation in 1904. Today it’s work includes providing support for business, social welfare and education in rural communities, and the staging ever-popular Society events; the Smallholding and Countryside Festival, the Royal Welsh Summer Show and the Winter Fair.

Each year the Royal Welsh Show has a different Host or Feature County. In their allotted year the Feature County appoints the President and Lady Ambassador for the show and takes part in the many events during the three shows during the year. Over the course of their year each feature county also takes particular responsibility for fund raising, organising a variety of events, big and small in their allotted years in order to raise funds to support the development of Llanelwedd and promote the Society, its work and all our shows/events.

Clwyd will be the Feature County in 2020, and the President and Ambassador were elected in December. Harry Fetherstonhaugh will be the President and the Ambassador will be Lowri Lloyd Williams. Clwyd has an Advisory Committee, which is chaired by Richard Tomlinson and the County Secretary is Ruth Davies. We also have area committees that people can get involved in their areas- get in touch if you’d like further details of the committee covering your area.
